DLion Heart Training Camp: Shaping fighters with a noble cause

Mixed Martial Arts legend Alex Matsiko has launched the DLion Heart training camp during a ceremony held today Thursday, August 29, at Mulango Restaurant in Kampala

The training camp intends to provide a conducive environment to prepare able fighters who can as well preach the gospel of fighting Sickle Cell Anemia.

In support of the initiative, Matsiko has welcomed BRAFAI (Blood Run and Fight Against Infirmities) and will be in charge of overseeing several events that will see fighters from the camp hit the ring.

The training camp will attract the finest fighters from across the country to prepare for the much-anticipated  “Rising Warriors MMA Charity Event” build-up fight on November 9, 2024, and the grand finale on February 8, 2025, at Serena Hotel.

“We are glad and excited to have this training because it will help in sharpening our fighters into champions. In the same spirit since fighters attract numbers we believe that they can be a strong voice for a noble cause,’ Matsiko stated during the event.

Matsiko further noted that through this initiative fighters can put their hands together to raise awareness of Sickle Cell Anemia, a genetic disorder that has taken several lives and brought sorrow to many people in Uganda and beyond.

In the same breath Wisdom Enoch Ronin, the founder of BRAFAI expressed his great gratitude for the fighters that have turned before he rallied them to turn up for the noble cause.

“We believe that the initiative will be a success if we work as a team. I am confident that sports is a strong platform that can help us rally the masses to positively impact society,” he stated.

The training camp and the series of events will be fueled by the strong support of Uga Chick Poultry Breeders LTD, GBK Dairy Products Ltd, Dora Car Beauty, Mulago Hospital Restaurant and Crown Beverages.
