Express Football Club name new captains

Uganda Premier League’s oldest club, Express FC has on Sunday confirmed the new player leadership just a day before their season opening game against Mbale Heroes FC.

The Red Eagles have named midfielder Emmanuel Wasswa as the first team captain replacing Ramzy Kawooya who recently joined BUL FC.

Wasswa is returning to Express for his second stint after a half season spell with the club last season before moving back to KCCA FC in January this year.

He returned to the seven time League winners on a two-year deal this time and will serve as the skipper.

Defender Derrick Ngobi who is also returning to Express FC after a short spell with Kenya’s Sofapaka will be Wasswa’s immediate assistant.

Veteran midfielder Saidi Kyeyune who joined Express FC from URA FC will be third captain while youngster John Asiimwe is the fourth skipper.

Express FC under coach Baker Mboowa will be seeking to make a great start to the season at their new home ground, Nakivubo Hamz Stadium.
