The FUFA Big League is back — the 2025/26 season starts Sunday, September 28, 2025, with all 16 teams in action, in eight matches at eight different venues across the country. All games will kick off simultaneously at 4:00PM.

Eight exciting ties, but one amongst them stands out. At the Ebenezer University Playgrounds in Lira City, Blacks Power will host Onduparaka, all the way from Arua.

From teammates to rivals; this particular meeting between the two sides will have so many old friends going up against each other — each one of the two teams has a couple of players who formerly played for the other side.

Rashid Yakin, who captained Onduparaka until last season crossed to Blacks Power in the just concluded transfer window.

Two of Blacks Power’s current captains; Isaac Okello and Ivan Okello both previously played for Onduparaka, same as new signing Emmanuel Oketch. That makes it five former Onduparaka players lining up against their employers.

Meanwhile, the new look Onduparaka has so many new faces, most notably, amongst them is tactician John Ongodia, who previously coached Blacks Power, and made a very big name for himself at the club since their Bukedea days.

Upon switching to Onduparaka, Ongodia managed to convince a couple of players to join him in Arua, including; Erik Akol, Solomon Opolot, John Omagor, Jimmy Okiror and Seith Ssenoga, who all previously played for Blacks Power.

Points, Pride and Much More at Stake

At the end of the day, the winner will take not just the three points, but the bragging rights as well. There’s so much to fight for, as the two sides go head to head.

It will be more than just a football match, where two sides battle for three points, but also a meeting to settle past grievances — one where so many individuals will do so much just to prove a point that wasn’t understood in the past.

H2H: Blacks Power Stand Better Chance

Blacks Power have more often than not got the better of Onduparaka, emerging victorious in three of their last four meetings, as Onduparaka managed to pick just one win.

In their most recent meeting last season (in May), Blacks Power won 2-0 in Lira. Onduparaka had won the reverse tie 3-0 in Arua.

In the 2023/24 season, Blacks Power beat Onduparaka home and away, with a similar 1-0 margin.
