UPDF deepen Wakiso Giants relegation worries
UPDF FC condemned Wakiso Giants to yet another defeat, worsening their situation in as far as fending off relegation is concerned.
The Army side secured a 1-0 win over the Purple Sharks in the Uganda Premier League game played on Friday at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
Veteran striker Samuel Kayongo Ssekamatte scored the lone goal of the game, coming 15 minutes from time.
He came on as a second half substitute, replacing Daniel Kitara and eventually got the all important goal for the Bombo based team.
The result takes UPDF FC to tenth position on 27 points while Wakiso Giants FC remain third from bottom on 14 points.
Wakiso Giants FC will return to action on Saturday next week against fellow relegation candidates Mbale Heroes FC.
UPDF FC on the other hand will host title chasing NEC FC on Friday next week.
