Two StarTimes Uganda Premier League giants Express and URA have registered rebuilt Nakivubo stadium as their new home for the forthcoming 2024/25 season.

The Red Eagles, seven-time league champions will shift from Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku for the first time in over two decades in case Nakivubo passes the stadium licensing requirements.

URA ended last season without a permanent home after they were told to Lugazi Municipal stadium.

They did host matches at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in Wakiso and also in Wankulukuku towards the end of the campaign and thus moving to Nakivubo will be permanent at least for next season.

Villa to Namboole

Meanwhile, Wankulukuku could starve league football next season after champions SC Villa also registered Mandela National stadium, Namboole as their home according to reliable sources.

The 17-time league winners are without a permanent home and have previously hosted at Namboole.

Other stadia that have hosted Villa matches include Masaka Recreation ground, Kavumba Recreation Grounds, Mityana Ssaza Ground, Military Grounds in Bombo and Nakivubo stadium among others.
