Handball at the on-going 2024 USSSA Ball Games 2 in Soroti city (Teso College Aloet) has reached the semi-final stage for both boys and girls.

The semi-finals will be played on Tuesday, 16th July 2024 ahead of the final on the following day.

This followed the successful completion of the quarter finals on Monday evening.

Kawanda Secondary School, Kibuli Secondary School, Mbogo High School and Gombe Secondary School are the four schools in the girl’s gender still standing tall.

Ntare School, Wampeewo Ntake, Mbogo Mixed and Bombo Army are remaining for the boys.

In the quarter finals played, Kawanda SS stopped Wampeeewo Ntake girls 15-12.

Evelyn Namanya scored four goals, Jasmine Regina and Maven Drichiru each added three goals apiece.

Shakirah Namanda was outstanding for Wampeewo Ntake with 7 goals with the others contributed by Leah Letasi and Tendo.

Kibuli SS humbled Iganga SS 25-25 with Angel Nassolo, Priscilla Aber, Aisha Mwirusi, Morren Asekul and Lucia Kemisa scoring for Kibuli SS.

Ruth Mwanga scored a game high 11 goals with Immaculate Kwagala adding the other four for Iganga SS.

Mbogo High School out-smarted Kakungulu Memorial 17-08. Esther Adyero was top scorer for Mbogo High with 6 goals as Noelinah Amongin and Slyvia Mungurimo each scoring three goals to their name.

Rashimi Nalwyeiso was outstanding for Kakungulu Memorial with five goals and Sarah Ssoto scoring a hat-trick.

Gombe beat Kyeizoba Girls 23-09. Brenda Kwicwinyi had a lion’s share of the goals’ cake with 9.

Bridget Ayikoru contributed 8 and Flavia Nakawala scored a hat-trick.

Linda Trust Tracy and Faith Abaasa scored three goals apiece for Kyeizoba Girls with Mariam Kyomugisha and Rinah Asasira also scoring.

Boys:

Ntare School eliminated St Henry’s College Kitovu 17-09.  Elia Aheebwa scored 8 goals, the game highest score.

Morris Rodney Mwesigye added five whilst Joshua Muhumuza and Wesley Elisha added 2 goals apiece.

Isaac Key Aturinda, Carols Emma Nshemereirwe and Chrissomtom Olwoch replied for SHACK.

Wampeewo Ntake defeated Kakungulu Memorial 20-11. Prosper Wagaba, Sande Mukiibi, Daniel Olem and Solomon Rupiny scored for Wampeewo Ntake.

Allan Soro, Elics Okello and Abdul Malick Waiswa were on target for Kakungulu Memorial.

Bombo Army triumphed 15-13 over Lubiri Secondary. Daniel Comboni, Thomas Lukwiya, Jovan Ronnie Mukisa and Daniel Opuro contributed to Bombo Army’s victory. Patrick Oyrema (7 goals), Stephen Raymond Epwosu (4 goals) were Lubiri’s most shining players.

Mbogo Mized edged Kawanda SS 16-15 in a tense nailing biting thriller.

The Mayanja entity of Arnold and Salim were a thorn in the flesh of Kawanda whilst Ibrahim Koire and Samuel Smith Luyima scored the most goals for Kawanda SS.

The semi-finals and other classification duels will be played on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s grand climax.
