Jonathan Katumba is a versatile, diligent and utility footballer comfortable as a right back and midfield player.
Katumba commenced his footballing journey while at Faith Trust primary school, Kitende.
In primary four, he got an educational bursary until he finished primary school.
He then joined Kitende Secondary School for Ordinary and Advanced levels of education.
For his on and off the field of play leadership qualities, he was named the team captain at Kitende SS from S3 to S6.
At the same time, he featured at Kajjansi Shooting Stars under coaches Jamil “Bunga” Ssedunga and Moses “Jajja Moze” Ssenyonga.
Upon graduation from Kajjansi Shooting Stars, he joined Entebbe Football Club in the Buganda regional league for two seasons.
At the start of the 2023-2024 season, he joined his home team, Kajjansi United where he was given the captain’s arm band given the leadership abilities.
He is optimistic of a bright future given the continuous work input on and off the field of play.
“I want to remain committed towards working hard in training so that I develop my talent and join big professional clubs” Katumba remarks.
At the moment, he is being eyed at several Masaza Cup teams in Buganda Kingdom as well as a number of clubs in the regional league and Star Times FUFA Big League.
