The new season of the Women’s T20 Season started with the defending champions Soroti City picking up two wins against hosts Jinja SS.
Jinja SS reinforced with the additions of Victoria Pearls Vice Captain Rita Musamali and Susan Kakai who joined from Wanderers to support their Victoria Pearls compatriot Stephanie Nampiina and rising stars Tikabulya Rashida, Eronda Erex and Whitney Nassuna.
The addition of Proscovia Alako to the Soroti City added runs to their game with the defending champions dominating with bat the whole day to pick up two wins against one of their challengers for the title.
Alako (51 not out) blasted a half-century off just 32 in the big win in the morning and followed it up with a 24 in the afternoon. Esther Iloku (47) anchored the afternoon innings for Soroti City in a close contest where Jinja SS fell short by 12 runs.
Soroti City picking up two key wins against a side that can challenge them for the title as they chase a second consecutive title.
