Sacu Nursery & Primary School from Buwundo in Buikwe distrct is the fresh name tag in primary school for the district.
This was confirmed on Saturday, 20th July 2024 at the Allied Teachers Secondary school playground in Nyenga during the finals of the 2024 Odilo Buikwe district qualifiers.
Sacu Nursery & Primary school dethroned Rays of Grace Junior School with a 1-0 hard-fought result during the finale.
Aniwalu Semere scored the all-important goal as they won their first ever trophy at the district level.
It then necessitated solid defending and collective display to be crowned as champions before the trophy was handed over by Hajji Kamadi, the secretary of Buikwe District Football Association.
Hajji Kamadi lauded the victors for the solid brave performance, organization as he called upon the other schools to benchmark.
“I wish to congratulate Sacu nursery and primary School for the organization because it is not easy to win a tournament beating the national champion. The rest of the schools should benchmark from them. I call upon you (Sacu primary school School) who are our champions 2024 to go there and represent us well not only on Region, National but also East Africa at large because it is where it ends” Kamadi urged.
During the semi-finals, Sacu nursery & primary school overcame St Joseph Primary school 3-1.
Semere grabbed a brace in this match with Hassan Turabi’s goal off the penalty mark sealing their victory.
Earlier in the group stages, they were merciless with a 3-1 victory over Mbiko Junior school, 2-0 win over Kitigoma primary school and a commanding 5-0 triumph at the hands of St Joseph Primary school.
On the other hand, Rays of Grace Junior school humbled Mbiko primary school 5-1 in a one sided semi-final contest.
