Kampala Queens part ways with Zaina Namuleme

FUFA Women Super League Kampala Queens FC has on Thursday confirmed the departure of one of their longest players Zaina Namuleme.

The club confirmed via their social media platforms that Namuleme has left the club.

“Your commitment since 2016 has been instrumental in our team’s success. As you move forward, please know that you carry with you our admiration and support. Everyone at the Palace would like to thank you for your services to the club, and to wish you all the best in the future.” A statement from the club reads.

Namuleme has been part of the club since its inception in 2016 when they bought off Gaddafi Intergrated Academy and changed the name.

She had been part of the latter and was one of the players who was retained alongside Damilie Matama who is also believed to be leaving the club.

For the last two seasons, Namuleme was the captain of the club, replacing Fauzia Najjemba but she was stripped off the captaincy towards the end of the recent campaign.

Reports indicate more players are likely to leave Kampala Queens FC. Lillian Mutuuzo was the first to leave, joining South Sudan outfit, Yei Joint Stars FC.

Last season, the Queens of Soccer finished second in the League behind eventual Champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC.
