Angola, Tunisia and DR Congo ended the first phase of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with maximum points after picking yet victories on match day two.

The Angolans who stunned Ghana Black Stars on match day one in Kumasi saw off Sudan 2-1 in Luanda to take charge of F.

Ghana who could only manage a 1-1 draw away to Niger remain with a single point in 3rd place with Sudan second on three.

Sebastien Desabre’s DR Congo went to Ethiopia and beat the hosts 2-0 in group H adding on the slim 1-0 victory over Guinea on day one.

In the same group, Guinea will host Tanzania’s Taifa Stars on Tuesday with either seeking first three points.

2004 Afcon winners Tunisia had on Sunday maintained perfection with an important win over the Gambia in group A.

Hosts Morocco also made it two wins in as many matches with a hard-fought win over Lesotho.

Elsewhere, Senegal picked their first qualification campaign three points with a 1-0 victory over Burundi in Dar es Salaam in group L taking their tally to 4 points, one ahead of Burundi, Uganda beat Congo to move top of group K with four points as well while Togo and Equatorial Guinea played to a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Comoros and Madagascar also draw 1-1 in group A leaving Tunisia four points ahead of the second placed team.

Qualifiers continue on Tuesday with several matches across the continent as teams end match day two.
