The Pro-Am tournament prior to the 19th Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional Golf open will take center stage on Tuesday, 3rd September 2024 at the lake-side Entebbe club.

A total of 57 teams of sponsors and partners led by Johnnie Walker and Absa Bank will compete in this day-long championship.

Each of these team is spur-headed by a professional golfer who test out their game in preparation for the main championship that tees off on Wednesday, 4th September 2024.

Absa Bank Uganda, the main sponsors of this tourney have fielded the most number of teams, ten.

Tadeo Rodell Gaita is the professional player who will play under Absa Team one with the Managing Director Mumba Kalifungwa, Jimmy Odongkara and Alex Mukasa.

On-form Ugandan professional Ronald Rugumayo will play for Absa team eight with the amateurs as Aaron Ecel, Wendy Angudeyo and Berna Musanabera.

Johnnie Walker One team has Vincent Byamukama on board as the professional. The others are Alexander Matsiko, Peace Hellen and Jovia Tugume.

Defending champion Dismas Indiza will play for Pepsi One with Samson Agamile, Louis Tumukunde and Yusuf Muhenda.

2022 Uganda Pro open winner Robson Chinhoi will play under Case Medical Services Five with Alexander Kasendwa, Paul Ekudu and Peris Venessa.

Other sponsors with teams include Medisell, MTN Uganda, HH Solutions, National Council of Sports (NCS), Hisense, 7 UP, Motorola, AquaFina, NBS Sport and Pinnacle Security.

The top 5 amateurs & top 5 professionals will earn an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2025 Magical Kenya Open in Nairobi city, Kenya.
