“Champions are born and prepared” goes the old school adage. This exactly fits Zambian professional golfer John Dayne Moore.

Moore is the new champion of the 2024 Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional Golf Open.

He was aggressive, articulate and more prepared to take on the mantle as he executed the act.

“I am humbled for the victory on a year that I also won one tournament in South Africa and came second in Zambia. This gives me the momentum going into a busy next 8 weeks” Moore remarked.

The towering golfer, a member at Ndola Golf Club in Northern Zambia joins the long queue of the Uganda Professional Open, a prestigious tourney with a total cash prize of Ug.Shs 150,000,000 (at least 40,333 USD).

He scored with a total gross mark of 281 (three under par), two shots off the second runners up, Celestin Nsanzuwera from Rwanda.

He then played safe on the second shot, chipped to the greens the third and two-putted as he retuned 1-over on the final round.

“The victory in Uganda is humbling. Entebbe is a good place and Ugandans are just like Zambians, very welcoming. I loved the gallery that also pushed us throughout the tournament” Moore added.
