JKL Lady Dolphins have secured their spot in the National Basketball League final after a hard-fought 59-58 against JT Lady Jaguars on Friday at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
The Lady Dolphins clinched the semifinal series with a 3-1 win, thus setting up a final against UCU Lady Canons.
JKL Lady Dolphins opened a three-point (17-12) lead at the end of the opening period as the game was treated to a perfect start.
The Lady Dolphins further stamped their dominance as they extended their lead to 14 points (38-24) going into the long break.
Coming from the locker rooms, JT Lady Jaguars outscored the Lady Dolphins 19-11 as they reduced their deficit to six points (49-43) at the end of the third period.
Despite the big fight by the JT Lady Jaguars, they trailed by just a point at the end of such a thrilling encounter of basketball.
Ritah Imanishimwe was the top scorer for the Lady Dolphins with 13 points as Hope Akello and Jane Asinde scored 12 points each.
Rhoda Nagitta led the JT Lady Jaguars scoring chart with 16 points before Sandra Ayikoru Wangeshi added 13 points as the only two players in double digits.
