The 2024 FEASSA Games in Bukedea Uganda resumed on Friday, 23rd August following a day’s break to accommodate the Nations and Cultural night celebrations.

Handball action at Bukedea Primary school witnessed the resumption of the group stages with eight games played on the day.

Rwanda’s Adegi SS maintained their rich vein of form with a 28-16 comprehensive victory over Kenya’s Hospital Hill SS in group B (boys).

Adegi has now attained 8 points from 4 matches as they remain unbeaten.

In the same pool, Mbogo Mixed overcame fellow Ugandan counterpart Ntare School 30-20 to take their tally of points to 3 from 3 matches.

For Group A boys, Wampewo Ntaake made it 3-out-of-3 with a 27-24 win past Kenya’s Siniak SS.

Wampewo Ntaake SS continues the quest for a semi-final berth with 6 points fetched thus far, same as Bombo Army and Kenyan outfit Kimilili Boys High School.

Kimilili  Boys High School won with an 8-points margin; recording a 28-20 result past Bunda SS from Tanzania.

Girls:

Kibuli SS (Uganda) finished their group games unscratched with a 27-14 win over Njombe SS from Tanzania in group A.

In the same group; Moi Girls, Kamusinga (Kenya)defeated Rwanda’s Kiziguro 24-18.

Mbogo High (Uganda) won their second game of the campaign with a spirited performance which witnessed them triumph 24-20 over Kenya’s Murindiko SS.

Kilombero (Tanzania) beat Kenya’s Kwanthanze 22-17, getting to four points, same as Mbogo High School.

Gombe SS leads group B with 5 points following two wins and a draw in the opener.

The group stages will be completed on Saturday, 24th August 2024 ahead of the epic semi-finals and climax.

Handball is among the sports disciplines at 2024 FEASSA Games. The other games include Rugby (7’s and 15’s), badminton, Hockey, Volleyball, Basketball, Goalball, football, netball, handball, athletics, swimming, tennis and table tennis.

The games will run until Monday, 26th August 2024, on the day of the official closing ceremony.

Uganda is the overall defending champion after the games held in Huye city, Rwanda last year.
