Singer Lil Pazo, real name Yasin Mukasa, claims not to have received any intention to sue notice regarding a copyright infringement case he is being accused of by the family of the late Kato Lubwama.
The late Kato Paul Lubwama was a composer and the original creator of the song “Kilabe Ebiiso.” This composition, copyrighted under Lubwama’s name, has reportedly been infringed upon by Lil Pazo’s new release titled “Irena Weee….”
Lil Pazo maintains that his song is very different from the late’s song.
In a Sanyuka TV interview, Pazo also states that he is yet to be served with the sue notice but acknowledges seeing the document on social media.
There is a very big difference between Ebiiso and Irena Weee. But also, I am only seeing these (notices) on social media, I have yet to receive them in person but I am hopeful they will be brought to my understanding.
He claims that the reggae beat he used is Lucky Dube’s and that he only used Luganda words which he doesn’t believe is a case to answer.
Lil Pazo also laughs off the Shs300m evaluation of the intellectual property infringement compensation.
