Fik Fameica shared the behind-the-scenes story of the collaboration behind his hit song “Omu Bwati,” featuring Nigerian artist Patoranking.
Fik Fameica expressed gratitude towards media personality and socialite Sheilah Gashumba for initiating the connection to this successful musical partnership.
According to Fik Fameica, Sheilah Gashumba first reached out to Patoranking. Impressed by Fameica’s work, Patoranking responded positively, which paved the way for their collaboration.
Despite the initial introduction facilitated by Sheilah, Fik Fameica took charge of the project, ensuring all necessary steps were taken to make the collaboration happen.
Interestingly, Fik Fameica disclosed that by the time “Omu Bwati” was released, his relationship with Sheilah Gashumba had cooled off, and they were not on speaking terms.
Nevertheless, this did not hinder the progress of the project. The music video for “Omu Bwati” was shot in Kenya, aligning with Patoranking’s schedule, as he was hosting a listener’s party there.
Fik Fameica made the trip to Kenya specifically to meet Patoranking and finalize the video shoot, although the audio had been completed earlier.
Fik Fameica also revealed that he financed the entire production. This included the costs for the audio recording, video production, and even the costumes used in the video.
