Geosteady breaks silence on substance abuse after rehab

Geosteady has spoken publicly for the first time about his battle with substance abuse since leaving rehabilitation.
Appearing on Sanyuka Television on Monday, the musician gave an account of how his life spiraled after turning to drugs in 2024.
For me, I started using substances in 2024 because I thought it would help me work harder. At first, you feel confident; you can push through days without sleep.
He admitted that his addiction pushed him to extreme levels, including staying awake for two days straight while locked in the studio.
The habit, he said, gradually took a toll on both his music career and personal life.
Addiction isn’t just about drugs. In rehabilitation, I’ve met people struggling with food addiction, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, and depression. Many people use substances for different reasons, some to escape stress, others to work harder.
The singer also opened up about how the struggle affected his role as a father.
For me, one of my greatest joys has been being a parent. Co-parenting was going smoothly, but in the last seven months it has become very difficult. Many terms and conditions have been placed in the way, and for six months I wasn’t even around.
Geosteady said his breaking point came when close friends intervened and took him to rehabilitation.
