Several years ago, Nigerian superstar Wizkid visited the country and during his stay at Mestil Hotel in Kampala, Wizkid crossed paths with Fik Fameica. The encounter led to discussions of a musical collaboration between the two artists, that hasn’t happened to date.
Fik Fameica while appearing on Cruz Xclusive, talked about the situation, explaining the primary reason for the delay.
“He became so big,” Fik Fameica says, reflecting on how Wizkid’s rising career influenced the collaboration’s progress.
Wizkid’s management set the project budget at USD 100,000. For Fik Fameica, this figure was overwhelming.
Despite the setback, Fik Fameica remains optimistic and values the connection he has established with Wizkid.
He (Wizkid) even came back the second time and asked to see me and we linked up and got a bit more closer. I said to myself that’s enough, I don’t need to rush things. When I get money and the time is right, I’ll go ahead with the song with him.
