FEASSA Games 2024: Hosts Amus College School, holders St Mary’s Kitende in titanic boy’s final

FEASSA Games 2024 (Football):

Final (Monday, 26th August)

Boys:

  • St Mary’s Kitende (Uganda) Vs Amus College School, Bukedea – 11 AM

Girls:

  • St Noa Girls Zzana (Uganda) Vs Butere Girls (Kenya) – 2 PM

The 2024 FEASSA Games will officially climax on Monday, 26th August in Bukedea district.

This follows 10-days of epic action in a number of sporting disciplines; both outdoor and indoor.

Football, Handball, Tennis, Hockey, Netball, Basketball and Athletics were some of the outdoor sports disciplines whilst Table Tennis, Badminton and Swimming represented the indoor sports docket.

In a repeat of the 2023 boy’s football final played in Huye, Rwanda; record champions St Mary’s Kitende will face off with the hosts Amus College School, Bukedea in what is expected to be a cracker of sorts.

The final will be played on the newly laid astro turf at Amus College School with a mammoth crowd expected to watch this thriller.

St Mary’s Kitende pipped Kenya’s Musingu Secondary School 1-0 with teenager Farouk Tumwesigye on target during the first semi-final at Mbale city stadium.

During the second semi-final, Amus College School overcame a 10-man Bukedea Comprehensive School 2-0.

Davis Busuulwa and Mudasir Ijosiga scored the goals for Amus College.

“This final comes with lots of expectations. We (Amus College School) are ready to fight for it” Nimrod Kintu, head coach at Amus College School stated.

The girl’s final will be played at Bukedea Comprehensive sports park stadium between Uganda’s St Noa Girls and Butere Girls from Kenya.

The International Schools Federation (ISF) president Laurent Petrynka is already in Bukedea to witness the 2024 FEASSA Games.

Uganda has dominated Table Tennis, Netball, Swimming with an assured gold in girls’ handball following a final between Kibuli SS and Gombe.

In the handball final for men, Kenya’s Adegi SS plays Uganda’s reigning champions Wampeewo Ntake.

There are also Uganda’s teams in basketball finals. Kenya has been unstoppable in Rugby and Hockey so far.

Kenya will host the next FEASSA Games which bring together schools from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi and Rwanda.
