SC Villa’s return to the Caf Champions League ended as soon as it started after bowing out at the hands of Ethiopia’s CBE 3-2 on aggregate.

After a 2-1 defeat at Namboole in the first leg, Villa pulled off a 1-1 draw in Addis but that wasn’t enough to see them through.

Patrick Kakande scored from the penalty spot to draw the Jogoos after the hosts had gone in front in the 68th minute.

Kakande who will share part of the blame for the abysmal show a week ago sent the goalie the wrong way in the 78th minute from the spot to give the Jogoos hope of tying the tie.

However, the Ethiopian champions held on till the final whistle and will now face Tanzania’s Young Africans in the next round.
