The 37 professionals and 3 amateurs who made the cut from the opening two rounds of the 19th Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional Golf Open get into action for the third round on Friday, 6th September 2024.

These will be joined by the subsidiary cluster of golfers (men and women) in groups A and C.

The professionals are battling for good positions where they will be able to have a good share of the Ug.Shs 15,000,000 prize money kitty.

The main pressure group that has the overall leader Dayne J Moore from Zambia will tee off alongside Rwanda’s Celestine Nsanzuwera and Kenyan pro Jastas “Pastor” Madoya at 12:30 PM.

“I will play my own strategy. I bother less on the leaderboard” Moore stated in reference to the pressure that comes with the last two rounds.

A Sunshine Tour player for over a decade, Moore opened with a 7-under 64 gross mark before slipping to 2-over 73 on day two; but still managed to stretch the lead to five shots.

The second pressure group of Abraham Ainamani (Uganda), Zimbabwe’s Promise Sombreiro and Rwanda’s Erneste Ndayisenga drives off at 12:20 PM.

Ndayisenga recorded the best score on day two with 3-under 68.

At 12:10 PM, two Ugandans Ronald Rugumayo and Philip Kasozi will play alongside Mike Kisia.

Two-time former winner Robson Chinoi (2020 and 2022) plays with legendary Deo Akope and Adel Balala (amateur).

Defending champion Dismas Indiza from Kenya will also play with Joseph Reagan Akena (the reigning Uganda Open amateur champion) and another Kenyan, Daniel Nduva.

Professionals Draw for Day 3

A total of 13 Ugandans (11 professionals and 2 amateurs) made the cut line of +6 after the opening 36 holes of action.

The rest of the two days will be real survival for the fittest as the professionals vie for the suitable money bracket positions.

The golfers are vying for Ug.Shs 150,000,000 total prize money kitty.
