City Oilers etched their name in the books of history as far as Uganda Basketball is concerned after securing the 10th consecutive title.

This was after City Oilers registered a well-well-deserved 64-51 victory against the KIU Titans to complete a sweep (4-0) in the best of seven series.

Under the tutelage of Andrew Tendo, City Oilers has had to withstand several challenges to ensure that they clinch the 10th title.

To start, the Oilers lost head coach Mande Juruni to Rwanda’s Kepler, leaving a huge void for the man who had led the team to nine straight Championships.

Along the way, their roaster was shaken after the abrupt departure of Jimmy Enabu, Tonny Drilleba, and James Okello, a move that gave other teams hope that it could be the season to dethrone the dictator.

As the playoffs rolled on, the Oilers lost Edrine Walujjo and Maker Maker to a suspension and injury, respectively.

But the inclusion of American guard Petty Parrish brought fresh and renewed energy as the well-oiled machine pushed for the 10th accolade.

Parrish’s scoring prowess proved to be the difference in game three (semifinal) against UCU Canons before he put the icing on the cake against the KIU Titans.

In game four, he led the scoring charge with 21 points as Ivan Muhwezi, and Lual dropped in 11 points each.

On the other hand, Edgar Munaba (13 points) and Mpiya Juf (12 points) are the only Titans that managed to reach double digits.

The Oilers have beaten the Kasanga-based side thrice (2018, 2023, and 2024) in the final.
