A buoyant Van Steen arrived in Uganda at Entebbe International Airport on Wednesday alongside the AFSO – Africa president Ronald Mugula.

Van Steen promised to give his best in the K-1 style bout that will last for four rounds.

“This is my first time in Uganda and Africa. I am ready to rumble against the Ugandan. I will give my best foot forward” Van Steen remarked.

Currently based in Germany, Mugula believes that this bout will awaken the kickboxing sport in Uganda given the fact that it will be happening in the country-side.

“This is start of the many fights under AFSO in Uganda and on the African continent. Kickboxing must return to the golden days” Mugula noted.

The Third Battle Night will also feature a couple of undercard fights from upcoming and established fighters as Richard “Ring Doctor” Ddamulira as AFSO Uganda national coach Sadat Yiga testifies.

“The fighters have been training well and therefore ready to compete. We urge the fans to turn up in big numbers” Yiga urged.

Kickboxing remains one of the darling sports; most popular in the urban areas especially the Ghetto zones.
