CAF WCLZQ: Kampala Queens Eye Bronze, JKT Target Second Title

Tuesday 16, September
Kenya Police Bullets FC Vs Kampala Queens, 12pm
JKT Queens Vs Rayon Sports Women FC, 3pm
The 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Qualifiers will conclude this Tuesday with two crucial matches scheduled at Kasarani Stadium.
In the early kickoff, Kampala Queens will face Kenya Police Bullets FC in the third-place playoff, set for 12:00 PM.
The Ugandan representatives narrowly missed out on a spot in the final after losing 4-3 on penalties to Rayon Sports Women FC in the semifinals.
They will now be hoping to secure the bronze medal and end their campaign on a positive note.
A bronze medal would mark a significant improvement for Kampala Queens, who failed to progress past the group stages during their debut appearance in 2023.
However, they will be without key defender Jolly Kobusinge, who was forced off during the semifinal with a thigh muscle injury.
Esther Namusoke is expected to step in as her replacement.
Kenya Police Bullets FC, meanwhile, will miss the services of Ugandan defender Desire Katisi Natooro, who has joined the Uganda U20 national team camp ahead of their World Cup Qualifier against Namibia. All other players are available for selection.
In the final match of the day, tournament favorites JKT Queens will take on Rayon Sports Women FC in the highly anticipated championship decider.
Both teams arrive at the final unbeaten, although JKT Queens boast a perfect record from the group stage.
In the semifinals, JKT Queens edged out hosts Kenya Police Bullets FC in a dramatic penalty shootout, while Rayon Sports Women FC overcame Kampala Queens in similar fashion.
JKT Queens are aiming to lift their second CECAFA title, having previously won the tournament in 2023 when it was held in Uganda.
In the race for the Golden Boot, JKT Queens’ striker Jamila Rajabu leads the scoring charts with five goals, three more than any other player in the competition.
