NEC FC head coach Hussein Mbalangu has promised an all-out attacking approach as his side faces Nairobi United in the CAF Confederation Cup return leg on Saturday at Nyayo Stadium, Nairobi.

The Ugandan side heads into the clash with work cut out after the first leg at Nakivubo ended 2-2.

Cromwell Rwothomio and Paul Mucureezi were on target for NEC, while Enock Machaka and Mwinyi Kibwana struck for the Kenyan visitors.

“Our strategy and game plan is to win the game. We don’t mind about the away goals rule. We shall start attacking from the word go and play an attacking-minded game,” Mbalangu said ahead of the encounter.

“This is our first CAF Confederations Cup away game, but we have players who have played at these stages before. They know what it takes to be in such a position. All of us are here to win,” he added.

However, NEC will be without striker Cromwell Rwothomio, who is sidelined by injury and did not travel with the team.

However, captain Marvin Kavuma has rejoined the squad after missing the first leg, while former Onduparaka midfielder Ibrahim Musa has also made the trip to Nairobi.

Midfielder Emmanuel Kulanga traveled with the team but remains doubtful, with the medical staff set to assess his fitness before kickoff.

A win in Nairobi would see NEC progress to the next round, where they could face either Al Ahly Madani of Sudan or Tunisia’s Etoile de Sahel.
