Busoga College Mwiri continues to chase a 20th title after storming the semifinals of the ongoing Boys Schools Cricket Week tournament in Jinja.

The record winners took care of Teso College Aloet in the morning and Delhi Public School in the afternoon to remain unbeaten.

Delhi Public School tested the metal of the record winners but Gerald Olipa continued his good run with a composed half century that got them over the line.

Mwiri will wait for the loser between Jinja SS and Nyakasura to know their semifinal opponent.

Meanwhile, defending Champions Jinja SS put Aga Khan to the sword in a dominant batting performance with captain Paul Mulongo (62) and Pius Oloka (50) getting the runs to win the game.

In the same group, Nyakasura edged Aga Khan to set up a top-of-the-table clash with Jinja SS whose winner will face off with either Delhi Public or Teso College in the semifinals while the loser will take on Mwiri.

In the plate, the gloves were off with Masaka SS and Ntare School both finding rare wins. Ntare was yet to win any game in the tournament but they found their mojo in the plate event. Masaka SS got their act together and picked up two wins that will ensure a semifinal place in the plate.

St John’s SS Mukono and St Joseph’s College Layibi have an outside chance of making the semifinals tomorrow.
