Azawi clarifies deletion of politically charged tweets, maintains support for youth’s voices

In a tweet, singer Priscilla Zawedde a.k.a Azawi has watered down the rumors claiming her bosses at Swangz Avenue forced her to delete the politically geared tweets she made about the ongoing #March2Parliament protests.

In her statement, Azawi emphasized that she has full control of her X account and that she deleted the tweets herself.

She revealed how the deletion was inspired by a few individuals who had intentions of misusing her voice for malicious purposes, an opportunity she dreaded giving them.

Azawi, however, maintained that her stance on the ongoing protests has not changed and that the voices of the youth must continue to be heard and leaders held accountable to the people they serve.

Yo guys waguan, I want to clarify that I personally deleted my post because I have full control over my Twitter account and trust me, I didn’t do it to please those doing this country faulty, i can never give such cowards that satisfaction.

I realized that some individuals intended to misuse my voice for malicious purposes, and I did not want to give them that opportunity.

However, this does not mean that my stance on “Abakamuzi” has changed. I firmly believe that the voices of our country’s youth need to be heard and respected, and our leaders MUST be accountable to the people they serve. It remains my sincere hope that we can achieve this.

I apologize to those that i made feel like i had quit our fight and course, it wasn’t my intention, We’re still in this together and one day we shall be heard.
