Final schedule of the 2024 Nile Special 7s

Plascon Mongers will host the opening circuit (Entebbe 7s) at the Works Grounds and Stanbic Black Pirates will host the finale (Rujumba 7s) at Kings Park.

The schedule is split into blocks of three circuits in three successive weeks. There is a week’s break in the middle of the blocks. This will push the players’ bodies to the limit of their conditioning and the teams to the limit of their quality squad depth.

Eight teams – six core and two invitational – will compete in the women’s series. The core teams are Avengers, Kitgum Queens, Nile Rapids, She Wolves, Thunderbirds, and reigning three-time defending champions Black Pearls.

The lowest-ranked team by total points collected at the end of the series will be relegated.

The men’s series maintains sixteen teams – twelve core and four invitational. Elgon Wolves joins the list of core teams from the 2023 season, having won the promotional playoff tournament.

Heathens will look to unseat reigning champions Black Pirates and complete their clean sweep of the 2024 rugby season. The two lowest-ranked teams at the end of the series will be relegated.

Invitational teams to both the men’s and women’s competitions will be determined by URU from the respective host regions.
