Uganda Cranes defender Mugabi on target for Carlisle United over Aldershot Town

Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi was on target during Carlisle United’s 2-0 victory over Aldershot Town during the 2025-2026 Enterprise National League at Brunton Park before 7039 spectators.

Regan Linney and Bevis Mugabi scored for Carlisle United, both goals arriving in the second half.

Linney got the opener in the 46th minute, thanks to Wearne’s assist.

Mugabi doubled the matters on 69 minutes for his first goal at the club, a superb finishing following a corner kick execution.

“My first goal for Carlisle, in front of the Brunton Park crowd and my family watching — it means a lot. It shows that I am doing my job. The clean sheet makes it even better” Mugabi revealed to the media.

The goal and the overall performance for Mugabi earned him the Vesta Wealth player of the match.

This was the sixth victory of the season for Carlisle United football club in the 2025/2026 season that keeps them in third position with 20 points, a point behind Rochdale and Forest Green.

Carlisle United will take on Altrincham on 20th September 2025 at The J.Davidson Stadium.

Mugabi commenced his youth career at Fulham and Southampton football clubs. He later moved to Yoevil Town, Motherwell, Anorthosis Famagusta (Cyprus) and now Carlisle United.

For Uganda Cranes, he has been capped 28 times with one international goal.
