Tiger Woods recently admitted he lost sleep after Donald Trump‘s attempted assassination on July 13. CNN reports the golfer was unable to rest and watched updates on the incident as he traveled to the Open Championship.

Tiger Woods Explains Loss Of Sleep
The 48-year-old stated as he traveled to Scotland to compete in the 152nd edition of the major, he had Trump on the brain. “It was a long night, and that’s all we watched the entire time on the way over here,” Tiger said. “I didn’t sleep at all on the flight, and then we just got on the golf course,” he revealed. Woods was reportedly dog-tired the next day during his practice round. The pro shared he couldn’t “accomplish a lot because [he] wasn’t in the right frame of mind.”
Woods has long ties to old Donnie. The former president awarded Tiger the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019. Additionally, over the years, they’ve kicked it on the golf course together.
When Yahoo! Sports asked Tiger about his relationship with the now-GOP presidential nominee in 2018, he replied, “…he’s the president of the United States. No matter who is in office, you may like, dislike, personality or the politics, but we all must respect the office.”
Trump & Tiger’s Public Sex Scandals
The two may not appear to have much in common besides their fondness for golf. However, they both have undergone salacious and highly publicized sex scandals. The 82-time PGA Tour winner’s then-wife Elin chased him out of the house when she learned that he had been unfaithful. Woods later revealed that he slept with over 120 women.
Furthermore, Trump was recently found guilty of falsifying business documents after he allegedly paid adult film star Stormy Daniels for a sexual encounter.
In other news, the gold champion has his sights set on snagging another championship. Woods won the Claret Jug in 2000, 2005, and 2006. He teed off on Thursday (July 18), and the game will last until Sunday (July 21).
Now that he knows his homie Trump is safe, hopefully, he can get enough Zzz and be ready to hit the green all weekend long.
