SHACK League season II: All systems go as the stage is set for grand climax at St Lawrence University

The grand finale of the St Henry’s College Kitovu (SHACK) League season two is set for Sunday, 30^th March 2025 at the St Lawrence University playgrounds.

The local organizing committee members addressed the media at Jevine Hotel in Rubaga on Thursday, 27^th March 2025.

“The second SHACK League will climax this Sunday and all preparations are in place for a successful ending. We shall start the day with a Holy mass. The SHACK League is an embodiment of St. Henry’s College Kitovu values – integrity, excellence, and community as the old students gallantly showcase talent, unity, and sportsmanship.” Tonny Muliika, chairperson of the local organizing committee noted.

A total of 17 matches will be played on this final day that will commence with a Holy mass at 9 am as they dedicate the season to God.

Califo Kings Cup (main championship) and the Gutter Kings cup will be concluded.

Eight teams (four per group) qualified for the quarterfinals for the Califo Kings Cup and another eight for the Gutter Kings cups.

In group A; Jabbarians (21 points), Mbookya Warriors (16), Apetta Kings (16) and Kawo Rioters (16) made the grade to the knock out round.

From group B; Centennials (24), Jabba Gurus (16), Basajja Bakame (14) and Kasswa Titans (13) qualified for the quarter finals.

All these will compete in the Califo Kings Cup.

Ntuli Kings, Bacereal, Kata Bavarians, Mapeace, Green Cave, Dicos Brigade, Gosha Freaks and Wekiike Kings are the teams for Gutter Kings Cup (Europa league cluster).

Matches are expected to kick off by 10 AM.

Brian Charles “Omutegeke” Ssenyonga, the head of technical hinted about the decision to divide the league into two.

“We divided the league to create the vibe which have had this season. The Califo and Gutter Kings Cup will be concluded successfully” Ssenyonga remarked.

The grand climax will be graced by performances from music Diva Vinka and old student Ragga Dee.

Match day one of this league started way back in October 2024.

Thereafter, there were subsequent games in the following months.

CSR project:

Through the SHACK League, balls and a brand set of jerseys will be donated to the current football team of the school.

The SHACK Old students plan to contribute to the painting of the school and also organize a medical camp.
