Olila faces Pioneer, Tornado Bee to test Soroti as ACC travel to Jinja

Weekend Fixtures: 13/07/2024

  1. Olila CC v Pioneer – Lugogo Oval
  2. 2.Soroti City v Tornado – Entebbe Oval
  3. 3. JACC v ACC – Jinja Oval

The Women’s T20 League continues this weekend with Olila Cricket Club taking on Pioneer as the stand out fixture on Matchday 3.

Pioneer won the first game of the season defeating Tornado at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe while Olila, runners up last season, will be in action for first time this term.

The mix of the youth and experience in Pioneer helped them pick up the result last weekend with Naomi Mbwali outstanding with the bat while Agnes Nakakande offered support with the ball.

This fixture will test Olila’s resolve of pushing for the title and also having to top Group B if they want to make the semifinals of the T20 League.

Olila were the last winners of the league before the dominance of Aziz Damani. However, they lost key players to their sister team Soroti City but still have some exciting U-19 girls in their lineup who on their day can flex muscle.

Defending Champions Soroti City will be taking on Tornado Bee at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe. Soroti City were unfortunate last weekend after dropping points against ACC due to rain and they will hoping that the rain stays away this weekend. That washed out game is the only dump in the road for them for now but they have won all their games thus far.

Tornado Bee will be playing their first game of the season

ACC travel to Jinja to take on hosts JACC who lost the Jinja derby to Jinja SS last weekend and will be hoping to make amends.

ACC failed to take down Soroti City last weekend but they face an opponent they can match up with. They will be counting on Sarah Walaza, Consy Aweko and Gloria Obukor to take them to glory while JACC has Kevin Awino and Immaculate Nakisuyi in their line up to offer inspiration.

This fixture offers a game between two equals and should be interesting.
