Namuwongo Blazers registered a 73-61 victory against Our Savior in the Castle Light National Basketball League at the Lugogo Arena on Wednesday evening.

Namuwongo Blazers drew first blood in the highly anticipated three-game series against Our Saviour.

Nam Blazers opened up a two-point lead (13-11) at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Our Savior returned a better side and rallied from down to take a one-point (25-24) lead into the long break.

Our Savior took the positive vibe into the third stanza to claim a two-point lead (50-48).

Our Savior ran out of fresh legs in the final quarter as they trailed to Namuwongo Blazers by 12 points.

Jimmy Williams was outstanding for the Blazers, scoring a 20-point game-high while Innocent Ochera (17) and Joseph Chuma (12) added in double digits.

For Our Savior, only Henry Ssebagala (18) and Joseph Wacha (12) managed to drop double digits.

The two sides will meet again on Wednesday, July 12, at the Lugogo Arena for Game Two.
