Mukwala’s Simba seek Caf Confederation Cup quarter final at Al Masry

Wednesday April 2, 2025
- Stellenbosch vs Zamalek – 4pm
- Al Masry vs Simba – 7pm
- ASEC Mimosas vs RS Berkane – 7pm
- Constatine vs USM Alger – 7pm
Steven Mukwala and Simba will hope to get a first leg advantage when they take on Egypt’s Al Masry at New Suez Canal stadium in the Caf Confederation Cup quarter final.
The Tanzanian giants have played five quarter finals since the 2018/19 season but unfortunately, they have never gone past the stage.
They go into this game in good form in the domestic fixtures and they hope to carry this into the game against the Egyptians.
Their record away from home in the quarter finals is worrying as they have lost all – three in regulation time and two on penalties but they are always ruthless at home having beaten Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Wydad in the past.
This implies that getting a decent result in Egypt will set a tone for the reverse fixture in a weeks’ time.
Elsewhere, South Africa’s Stellenbosch host Zamalek of Egypt, RS Berkane are away to Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas while Constantine and MC Alger face off in an all-Algerian affair.
