Spice Diana’s name honored at St. Andrew’s College Sanda with dormitory dedication

As St. Andrew’s College, Sanda, marked their 16th anniversary on Saturday, 5th April 2025, they named one of the school’s dormitories after singer Spice Diana.

Sharing the news with Mbu, Spice Diana revealed that one of the Senior Five dormitories was named “Spice Diana Dorm” in celebration of her.

Via social media, Spice Diana, whose song ‘Kagobako‘ is currently dominating the airwaves, expressed her joy about the feat.

She noted that she has always seen streets and buildings being named after Ugandan greats but it never occurred to her that she would too be honored similarly.

She thanked the management of the school for the huge recognition, terming it as “an incredible honour.”

Growing up, I often saw roads and buildings named after Uganda’s greats, but it never occurred to me that one day, my name could be honored in the same way. At St. Andrew, a school dormitory has been named “Spice Diana” — and to me, that’s no small thing.

It’s a powerful reminder that with great power comes great responsibility.

To the students who will sleep in that dormitory, may my name serve as a constant reminder that your dreams are valid and achievable. A big thanks to the Directors, Father Lawrence and the management of ST. ANDREW’S SANDA, for this incredible honor.
