Maroons tame Lugazi in Najjembe
Maroons FC secured a hard-fought win over Lugazi FC as the two teams faced off on Friday in Najjembe.
The Prison Sentries earned a 1-0 win over the Leaders courtesy of Abel Michael Eturude’s first half goal.
The creative midfielder found the back of the net in the 18th minute when Baden Mujaheed Ogama teed him up.
The goal eventually turned out to be the decisive moment of the closely contested game that saw limited scoring opportunities for either side.
The result means Maroons completed a double over Lugazi FC this season having won the reverse fixture with a similar score line.
The game played on 6th October last year in Luzira saw Brian Oramirambe converting an 88th minute penalty after Muhammad Gift Lubega handled in the area.
The win takes Maroons FC to sixth place on 30 points. Lugazi FC on the other hand remained in 11th position on 26 points.
