Manchester City are set to battle Arsenal in the race to sign Housem Aouar, reports from the Mirror say Pep Guardiola is said to be an admirer of the Lyon star, but his former assistant Mikel Arteta is too as he sees Aouar as a player that can truly change the Gunners' midfield.
Reports say that Arsenal negotiated personal terms with the Lyon star and reached an agreement and what is left is Arsenal negotiating with Lyon.
Lyon's Aouar stance
The transfer expert claims that the player would 'love' a move to the Premier League, but Arsenal would have to pay the €60m (£54.4m) asking price for the midfielder.
No new bid has yet been placed by the Gunners according to the journalist.
Lyon sporting director Juninho said Pep Guardiola "likes" Houssem Aouar amid links to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. Aouar has reportedly emerged as a target for Guardiola's Premier League giants City and Ligue 1 champions PSG following his exploits for Lyon.
