St Kagwa High School Bushenyi topples the entire Ankole USSSA zone | Boys Football

• St Kagwa Bushenyi High School 1-0 Ibanda SS

St Kagwa Bushenyi High School made the grade for the 2025 USSSA national football championship due in Ngora.

This was after winning the Ankole zone boys’ football tournament when they beat Ibanda SS 1-0 in the final played in Bushenyi.

Darius Nyesiga scored the match winner during the well contested duel.

Team skipper January Aguma lifted the trophy after the championship in which they were also rewarded with gold medals from the commissioner Rev. Canon Duncans Mugumya, USSSA executive committee member Twahil Kitezeela and other officials.

Spurred by talisman Iran Musinguzi, St Kagwa Bushenyi High School edged Kichwamba SS 1-0 in the semi-finals, the same scoreline that they had eliminated Nakivala SS during the quarter finals.

At the round of 16, St Kagwa Bushenyi High School defeated Bugamba SS 2-1 and at the stage of 32, they humbled Butsibo SS 3-0.

St Kagwa Bushenyi High School navigated through the group stages unscratched with maximum 9 of 9 points, scoring 6 goals and conceding none, thanks to the efforts of the goalkeeper Jordan Rutunganye and his entire defence.

They edged Gracious High School 2-0, edged Archbishop Bakyenga 1-0 and defeated Keihangara Seed 3-0.

The school head coach Isaac Kabaseke assembled a formidable team that also championed the Bushenyi district competition for the 7^th season in a row.

Meanwhile, St Kagwa Bushenyi High School also excelled in Basketball.

The games master Asheri Ajuna is lauded for the exceptional organizational and leadership skills that inspired the teams to sporting excellence.
