“Love Is a Lie” Were the Last Words I Said to My Soon-to-Be Husband as He Kicked Me Out

I met Erick back in 2015 while we were both in college at Meru Polytechnic. Back then, we lived our lives freely. Erick was proud of me and wanted to be with me anytime, anywhere. He supported me when I was down, and he celebrated with me in my happiest moments. I was deeply in love. He was my first love. I had strict parents, so having a boyfriend before college was unthinkable, but he made me feel like a queen with the way he treated me. We often went shopping together, and he would buy me clothes, ice, chocolates, and sometimes even cover my house rent.
As time went on, our love grew stronger. I spent weekends at his place, enjoying life to the fullest. I was so in love that he convinced me to move in with him, and we started living together. Life was easy at first; we were still wrapped up in a fantasy. But after about two months, Erick began showing strange behaviors. He started coming home late, drunk and wasted.
