ISBAT University , FUFA media services partnership set to benefit students, boost innovation & Research in Sports.
The ISBAT University family especially students will be ushered into a new dawn to the talent of sports following the strategic partnership between ISBAT University and FUFA media services which according to the sports experts from the two parties is envisaged to fuse academic innovation with football while collaborating in sports analytics, artificial intelligence driven research, media development and capacity building Uganda’s football ecosystem.

During the launch of the of the partnership held at the university on Lugogo Bypass in Kampala on Friday 20th February 2026, Dr. D. K. Mathew the Vice Chancellor of ISBAT University projected fruitful benefits from the partnership highlighting the transformative potential the collaboration will bring to the combination of sports and research and technology and the business opportunities hinged to it
“This day we associate with FUFA to collaborate sports and technology. ISBAT is not only introducing technology courses but student play and study. Football now has business opportunities and management qualities. With FUFA we I tend to achieve more in skills to enhance the football career” he said
He said the ISBAT University is set to establish a football academy with support from FUFA which he said will integrate the development of the various sports activities at the university including football, tennis, crickets, swimming among others.
On the other party, the 2nd Vice President of the Federation of Uganda Goofball Association (FUFA) Dr. Azah Taibu said the partnership is a key milestone in the football ecosystem that she said will enhance skill development while dwelling in data analytics, research in the value chain of football.
“At a time when skills development is critical, the partnership is a key milestone in the football ecosystem. FUFA training and the collaboration platform hinges a lot on data analytics, research” she said
The CEO FUFA Media services Mr Edgar Mubiru said that the media is evolving more use of innovation and research while applauding the university for enabling student to mix academia with sports noting that integration of research with football broadcasting will enhance content quality, analytics-based story telling and student internship opportunities.

The Academic Registrar of ISBAT, Dr. Giju Paul said that the launch of the partnership is a remarkable moment to promote football and research through utilitizing the opportunities in AI-technology to take sport to the next level.
While delivering a vote of thanks, he highlighted the broader vision of the collaboration of creating sustainable pathways or students in sport management, analytics, media and AI research, while contributing to the professional growth of Uganda’s football ecosystem.
