CAF Women’s Champions League| CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers: Kawempe fall to Simba Queens

Uganda’s representatives at the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC suffered their first defeat.

In their second group B game played on Wednesday at Abebe Bekila Stadium, Simba Queens FC from Tanzania condemned the Valley Warriors to a 3-0 defeat.

In a game of two halves, Kawempe were dominant and created several goal scoring chances in the first half but were made to pay for their wastefulness.

Simba Queens returned recharged after recess and swept aside Kawempe Muslim, punishing them epsecually from deadball situations.

The Kenyan trio of Jentrix Shikangwa, Vivian Corazone Anyango and Elizabeth Wambui scored a goal apiece for the Tanzanian outfit.

Victory means Simba Queens FC top group B with six points from two games while Kawempe Muslim remain second on three points.

PVP Buyenzi from Burundi drew goalless against Djibouti’s FAD FC and both teams have a point each.

Kawempe will end Group business with a fixture against FAD FC, hoping to secure the second slot.
