Kaabong & Karenga NRM Delegates Back Calvin Echodu for Eastern Region NRM Vice Chairperson

Mr. Calvin Echodu, who wants to become the NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, is currently touring the Karamoja sub-region to gather support. He is campaigning across the country as part of his bid to join the NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC). His first stop in the region was at Kaabong Resort Hotel, where he met with NRM leaders from Kaabong and some delegates from Karenga District.

At the meeting, Mr. Echodu received a warm welcome and strong support from local NRM leaders. The delegates from both districts officially agreed to support him for the Eastern Region Vice Chairperson role, which is a major position in the party’s top decision-making group.

This show of support has given a big push to Echodu’s campaign. He is becoming more popular in many parts of the country. People know him for being practical, caring about communities, and standing up for the youth and the underprivileged.

At the Kaabong meeting, many local leaders spoke well of Mr. Echodu. They praised his honesty, leadership skills, and his understanding of the real problems people face. They also pointed out his work in helping young people, improving education, promoting peace, and supporting farming. These were some of the reasons they believe he is the best person to lead Eastern Uganda in the NRM.

“Calvin Echodu is part of a new kind of leadership—he listens, he works with people, and he gets things done,” said Peter Pex Paak, the Vice Chairperson of Kaabong District. “He knows what this region needs and has the energy and ideas to speak up for us at the national level.”

In his speech, Echodu asked the delegates to continue supporting the NRM National Chairperson, H.E. President Yoweri Museveni, and all party flag bearers in the upcoming general elections. He said this would help keep the party strong and united.

The meeting was also a chance to talk openly about the challenges facing the Karamoja sub-region. Mr. Echodu urged party members to remain united and focus on providing good services to the people. He promised to be a reliable and easy-to-reach link between the region and the top leaders of the party.

As Mr. Echodu continues his campaign tour, more people are showing interest in his message. With solid support from Kaabong and growing attention from other districts, he is seen as a strong candidate—one who not only asks for votes but also listens and learns from the people he hopes to represent.
