From Parliament to Power!! My Journey from MP to Minister

My name is Hon. Michael Kiggundu, and I come from Masaka—a region known for its rich culture, natural beauty, and resilient people. I was raised in a humble home by my mother, a fruit vendor in the local market. Even as a boy, I carried a deep desire to serve others. I wanted to be a voice for my people, and years later, that dream came to life when I was elected as a Member of Parliament. However, I quickly realized that entering Parliament was just the first step in a far more challenging journey.

Though I remained active, outspoken, and firmly committed to my party, something invisible seemed to hold me back. I watched as colleagues, many with less experience or fewer achievements, rose swiftly to ministerial ranks. Meanwhile, I remained stagnant—just an MP. For three long years, I gave it my all. I showed up to every key meeting, played a role in shaping significant legislation, and maintained strong ties with party leadership. Still, there was no breakthrough. I started to doubt myself.
