Entebbe Air Force Secondary School won the 2025 Entebbe zone USSSA football championship held at the St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) main playground.

The victors needed a tense 4-3 post-match penalties victory over multiple champions Boston High School Mpala in the final that witnessed a mouth-watering 90 minutes’ end one-all.

Gideon Ayikowa, Emmanuel Kaweesa, Ivan Sserunjogi and Gordon Mugagga scored the penalties for Entebbe Parents as Owen Akanyijuka missed his effort.

Boston High School’s three penalties were converted by Ismail Ssekitto, Christopher Mbalire and Mark Sunday Okello.

Paul Kato and Moses Muhwezi had their kicks stopped by the Air Force goalkeeper Hamuza Mukova.

In the semi-finals, Air Force had eliminated Entebbe Parents SS 6-5 in penalties after normal time was goal-less.

Entebbe Air Force ejected Lake View SS Kitinda 2-1 at the quarter final stage.

Boston High School Mpala humbled Kisubi Mapeera 4-2 in post-match penalties in the semi-finals having defeated Entebbe Bright SS 2-0 during the quarter finals.

Entebbe Air Force SS was coached by the duo of Richard Kakembo Mande Kirwana and Simon Obai.

Obai also doubles as the games master for the school.

“It is a great achievement to win the Entebbe Zone football championship. We are now preparing for the Wakiso regional championship” Kakembo remarked.

This is the fourth time that Entebbe Air Force has won the school’s title in the Entebbe zone.

The two finalists (Entebbe Air Force and Boston High School Mpala) will represent Entebbe zone at the forthcoming Wakiso regional championship where they will be joined by schools from the different zones.

Wakiso regional has a number of zones as Kitende, Aggrey, Nsangi, Nadangira, Nansana, Bweyogerere.

Meanwhile, Merryland High School Kiggungu won the Basketball boys and girls titles.
