Sr.Dr. Mary Grace Akiror the Deputy Head of the RDC secretariat has implored the technical and political leadership of Kyegegwa District to mobilize the vast community members towards harnessing and benefiting from the various government programs in the district that are being funded by the government of Uganda and other non-state actors.  

Sr. Akiror flanked by Dr. Dan Sekibobo –Senior Presidential Advisor on Research are conducting country wide monitoring engagement on service delivery, interfacing with the technical, political, security and the Special Interest Groups. “The entire leadership must ensure that people benefit from the vast programs like Emyooga, PDM, Youth Livelihood programs, UWEP and many others” Sr. Akiror noted during and engagement meeting held at the Kyegegwa District Headquarters on Wednesday morning

Sr. Akiror thanked the people of Kyegegwa for the 89.65 percentage win by the President H.E [Gen] Yoweri Kaguta Museveni in the District, she reminded the participants that with the political season coming to an end it is imperative that all the efforts are now exerted on economic mobilization, she called up on every person to exercise the highest degree of patriotisms towards protecting the gains and championing development in the district.

 “It is imperative that we all work under minimum supervision as gallant sons and daughters of Uganda; we need to cause real development and be accountable while promoting integrity in our work schedules in Kyegegwa District and the country at large” she said

Dr. Dan Sekibobo underscored the need for efficient and effective mobilization towards service delivery, “Civil servants, politicians, special interest groups and all the other non-state actors must be engaged towards effective mobilization and service delivery” he said. Dr.Sekibobo took the participants through an interactive session covering a wide spectrum on service delivery inclusive of the impediments and the strategies to unlock all opportunities to the citizenry all aimed national development

While meeting the Special Interest Groups engaged in championing service delivery in a related session, Sr. Akiror called upon the participants to conduct thorough wake up sensitization towards economic activities and guard the gains as government continues to champion development in the respective areas, on the other hand Dr.Sekibobo challenged the participants to disseminate authentic development messages to the community and promote integrity

The Resident District Commissioner Kyegegwa Lt.Col.Nzirimu Bright re-affirmed the RDCs Office commitment towards implementation of the government programs and projects, he noted that teams work between the technical, political, security, special interests groups and the non-state actors has been very instrumental towards service delivery in the district and thanked President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the visionary leadership.

The Chairman LCV Byamukama Kisoke John thanked the delegation from the Office of the President for the engagement on the service delivery, he noted that it comes at a critical time when the country is undergoing total transformation, he proposed a routine engagement of such caliber at quarterly intervals with evaluations conducted. On the four acre model the chairman encouraged the people of Kyegegwa to embrace the visionary idea of the President on the four-acre model and the Parish Development Model which are economic propellers. He implored the stakeholders to be patriotic and hold Uganda in high esteem towards the benefit of the entire national development

According to the 2024 census Kyegegwa District population stands at 501,120 people, it is made up of three constituencies inclusive of Kyaka Central, Kyaka South and Kyaka North. On the Parish development model, the district has received 25,035,404,000 disbursed to 81 parishes right from the FY 2021/2 to-date, other programs include the Emyooga where the district has received 2,600,000,000, on UWEP the district has so far received 1,371,830,900 and has been disbursed to women groups across the district, Youth livelihood, SAGE etc. continue to fair on well in the District. The community continue to appreciate the NRM government for the visionary programs which are changing the day today economic lives of the citizenry across the district.
