Following a series of meetings held on Wednesday August 14, 2024, SC Villa will host their CAF Champions League clash against CBE at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.
This was revealed by club CEO William Nkemba at Namboole after a meeting attended by among others State Minister for Sports and Education, Peter Ogwang, SC Villa President Hajji Ahmed Omar Mandela and UPDF engineering brigade led Lt. Col Peter Kidemuka among others.
The meeting followed an assertion by Kidemuka on Tuesday where he insisted that Namboole is not aware of the game to be played at Namboole as construction of the running track is ongoing.
“We had a meeting where several discussions were held with the management of Namboole,” Nkemba told the eagerly waiting media.
“And we have come to agreement that our game with Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) will be hosted at Namboole on Saturday August 17 as scheduled by CAF.”
The confirmation is good news to the SC Villa and football fraternity as the UPL champions return to the continent for the first time since 2015.
The aggregate winner between Villa and CBE will face the winner between Young Africans of Tanzania and Vital’O of Burundi.
