CAF Women’s Champions League| CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers: Kawempe run riot against minnows FAD to book semifinal slot

Uganda’s representatives at the ongoing CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for CAF Women’s Champions League, Kawempe Muslim booked their slot into the semifinals after obliterating Djibouti’s FAD FC.

In the final Group game played on Frday at Abebe Bekila Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Kawempe registered a 10-0 win over their counterparts.

The Valley Warriors came into this game on the back of a 3-0 loss to Simba Queens and needed a win to advance to the final four.

The game was literally one way traffic with Kawempe controlling all proceedings and scoring goals for fun.

Hadijjah Nandago led the way, scoring five goals on the day while Shadia Nabirye bagged a brace.

The other goals for the five-team League Winners in Uganda came from Rebecca Nakato, Halimah Kampi and Mary Kabucurezi.

Victory meant Kawempe finished second in Group B on six points, three behind Simba Queens FC who played out a two-all draw in their final group game against PVP Buyenzi from Burundi.

Kawempe Muslim will now face hosts and Group A leaders CBE FC in the semifinals while Simba Queens FC will take on Kenya Police FC on Monday.
