Kawempe Muslim vs PVP Buyenzi – 11AM
Simba Queens FC vs FAD FC – 2PM
Uganda’s representatives in this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will hope to get off the mark on a positive note as they face Burundi’s PVP Buyenzi on Monday at Abeb Bekila Stadium in Ethiopia.
The Valley Warriors are playing at this level for the first time but very optimistic of producing decent results according to head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi.
Despite having a largely young team, Kiyingi believes his troops have old heads on young shoulders.
“I believe these girls have been together for quite a while with some getting continental exposure on national teams. They know what it means to play such games and we are very hopeful.” He said.
The coach asserts that it is important to start the tournament with maximum points and that is the target against PVP Buyenzi.
“We want to start on a good note and that is getting three points. But we know our opponents are good and it will not be an easy game.”
Kawempe Muslim is in Group B alongside Simba Queens FC and FAD FC who face off in the other game of the day.
It should be noted that only the Champions qualify to the final tournament of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
