Big Eye Starboss criticizes Museveni-approved copyright management system for artists

Big Eye Starboss has openly criticized the newly introduced Copyright Management System (CMS), which was recently approved by President Museveni.
According to Big Eye, the system—championed by Eddy Kenzo and his Federation—could be used to exploit other artists by controlling their royalties.

Kenzo and his team have been advocating for amendments to Uganda’s copyright law and, in the process, introduced the CMS to ensure that artists benefit from their creative works.
The system aims to track royalties and ensure fair distribution of earnings once the legal amendments are fully implemented.
However, Big Eye is not convinced. He expressed concerns that the system might instead serve Kenzo and his group’s personal interests.
We have always wanted the amendment of the copyright law, but they came up with a system instead. This cannot come before the amendment—what will the management system manage?
While the CMS has been designed to protect artists by tracking and managing royalties, Big Eye remains skeptical about its implementation and transparency.
He claims that the Federation’s actions might disguise hidden motives.
Challenge me if what I have said is wrong. I’m not fighting Kenzo, as people think—the goal is the same. But they just want to steal from artists under the guise of buying machines to track royalties.
